Hopefully TECH: Part 1 - How to do an annual service on Fox Forks has got you interested in keeping up with the require maintenance on your Fox fork. Before we get too far let's do a quick reality check.
You've removed the fork from your bike and gave her a good wash. Now is also an oppertune time to send the fork out to the pros to have them do the work for you.
fox service centre (fox canada) Fox usa
Push Industries charges $179 USD (USA)
Hippie Tech charges $75 (USA)
Suspension Werx charges $? (located in Vancouver, BC, Canada)
Local Bike Store ~$100
The cost for you to do this on your own:
(using http://www.universalcycles.com/ as a benchmark on acquiring the supplies)
Fox 2012 low friction SKF seal kit - $25 ($39.99 MSRP if you live in Canada)
Fox Float Fluid - $15
Fox suspension oil - $23
MixMizer syringe from walmart $8
Rubber Vacuum Nipples from autozone/pepboys/canadian tire $7
26 mm 6-point socket to open the top cap (most people won't have this size socket) $17
Park Tool TW-2 Torque Wrench (3/8- Inch Drive, 0-600 inch Lbs) $45
A bench vice ~$50 (lowes/home depot/auto parts store)
Total cost if you are lacking the tools is: $140 (more if you live in Canada). The important point to keep in mind is that with all the supplies and tools listed, the following year's service will only cost another Fox 2012 low friction SKF seal kit for $25 ($39.99 MSRP if you live in Canada).
On a scale of 1 to 10. 10 being most difficult, an oil change on your fox fork is around 7, provided that nothing is broken and needs serious diagnosing.
